city<\/strong><\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there is an ancient and historical city in Spain, it is -by history- the three thousand year old city of Cad<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00ed<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">z<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>This old city<\/b><b>,<\/b><b> bathed by the Atlantic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> saw the arrival of the Phoenicians to its coasts<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A remnant<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of that encounter survives in the cave painting, &#8220;la Laja Alta&#8221;, near Jimena, which depicts the meeting between the people of <\/span><span style=\"color: #2FAC66;\"><b>the Tartessos kingdom and the Phoenicians<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strabo, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Greek geographer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tells us <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the city was founded by <\/span><b>the navigators of Tyre<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here is a classical work titled &#8220;Gadeira, las islas gaditanas&#8221;, written about this concept<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. On this same island there was also<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a Phoenician settlement<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which although small, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was important because it had <\/span><span style=\"color: #2FAC66;\"><b>the temple of the goddess Astarte<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Venus. Archaeological <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">relics<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were found in the Punta del Nao, where there were votive offerings, female terracotas, goddesses with clear Egyptian features, and worship of a marine goddess.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">contact with the Egyptians, who could have visited the land in search of the trade of precious metals. From that relationship remains the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eastern<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> influence found <strong><span style=\"color: #2FAC66;\">in their <\/span><\/strong><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #2FAC66;\">anthropoid sarcophagi<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, of great historical and artistic importance<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sarcophagi<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">two<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> marble pieces worked by a Greek artist, but influenced by Egypt, the features<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> greatly expressiveness and perfect<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The sarcophagus belonging to the woman has been dated to 470 BC. (approx.) and the male one almost a century older.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Cad<\/b><b>\u00ed<\/b><b>z<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an amazing city that has had a great influence on the rest of the peninsula through its links with both <\/span><span style=\"color: #2FAC66;\"><b>marine peoples and local peoples<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Its mysteries are bountiful as we still do not know many of its details or much of its history.<\/span><\/p><p><div id='gallery-2' class='gallery galleryid-7191 gallery-columns-3 He also tells<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> how a prosperous trade in furs and precious metals was established<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">, which would evolve to<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> leave <\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">a permanent<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> mark on history.<\\\/span><\\\/p><p>[gallery columns=\\\"2\\\" size=\\\"large\\\" ids=\\\"2453,6820\\\"]<\\\/p><p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">As well as t<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">he mysterious <\\\/span><span style=\\\"color: #2FAC66;\\\"><b>Tartessian people<\\\/b><\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">, <\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">there is also the mystery of the orography of Cad<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">\\u00edz.<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> It is believed that there <\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">used to be an archipelago of islands in the area of Cad<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">\\u00edz,<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> that have <\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">since<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> disappeared as a result of erosion and the rise in sea level. T<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">here is a classical work titled \\\"Gadeira, las islas gaditanas\\\", written about this concept<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">. From that relationship remains the <\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">eastern<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> influence found <strong><span style=\\\"color: #2FAC66;\\\">in their <\\\/span><\\\/strong><\\\/span><strong><span style=\\\"color: #2FAC66;\\\">anthropoid sarcophagi<\\\/span><\\\/strong><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">, of great historical and artistic importance<\\\/span><\\\/p><p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">The sarcophagi<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> are <\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">two<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> marble pieces worked by a Greek artist, but influenced by Egypt, the features<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> greatly expressiveness and perfect<\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">. The sarcophagus belonging to the woman has been dated to 470 BC. (approx.) and the male one almost a century older.<\\\/span><\\\/p><p><b>Cad<\\\/b><b>\\u00ed<\\\/b><b>z<\\\/b><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\"> is an amazing city that has had a great influence on the rest of the peninsula through its links with both <\\\/span><span style=\\\"color: #2FAC66;\\\"><b>marine peoples and local peoples<\\\/b><\\\/span><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">.
