Created with the objective of being one of the largest religious temples in the world, the Cathedral of Seville was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987 and an Asset of Outstanding Universal Value in 2010. The Cathedral or Saint Mary of the Holy See has all the strength of its builders and all its symbology will amaze you.

The building built after the demolition of the old Aljama Mosque in Seville. The minaret, the current Giralda and its famous Patio de los Naranjos are preserved from the original construction. Located next to the Archivo de Indias, the Royal Alcazar and the famous Barrio de Santa Cruz.

For more than 150 years, Christians used the Muslim temple as a center of worship and it was in 1401 when the cathedral council decided to build a new temple. The works lasted until the fifteenth century, until 1506. According to tradition, the canons wanted to make such a large church “that those who saw it finished would think we were crazy.”

During the Renaissance stage, different dependencies attached to the Gothic temple were rebuilt, such as the Sacristy, the Chapter House or the Royal Chapel. The last part of the Giralda was also built, with the help of Hernán Ruíz, which, with a height of 104 meters, is visible from all points of the city and is currently an emblematic monument of Seville in which the body of bells.

During our guided tour our official guide will accompany you to discover all the secrets and history of this magnificent architectural ensemble. We will discover the secrets that are hidden inside, such as the tomb of Christopher Columbus or the largest altarpiece in the Christian world.

After the visit, inside the Cathedral, we will have the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful Patio de los Naranjos and, if you wish, climb to the top of the Giralda to enjoy beautiful views of the city of Seville and take excellent photographs to remember.
