Iberian ham comes from the Iberian pig, which is highly prized in Spanish cuisine and renowned throughout the world. Iberian pigs are reared in the wild in wooded pastures – where they feed on acorns – which we will also have the opportunity to visit.
We will take a guided tour of a livestock farm specialising in the production of this delicious delicacy, where visitors can discover all the details of how Iberian ham is reared and produced.
During the tour, we will learn about the Iberian pig’s diet, which consists mainly of acorns and native herbs, contributing to the exceptional quality and flavour of this delicacy. We will also discover how the ham curing process is carried out – a tradition that requires time, patience and a deep understanding of nature.
We’ll also enjoy a walk around the farm to see the pigs as they’re reared and discover the natural environment that gives Iberian ham its very special flavour.
Once we have toured all the facilities at the cattle ranch and learnt all the details of the production process, we will enjoy a tasting of Iberian ham to round off the visit with an unrivalled flavour.
