This half-day tour highlights the natural beauty and cultural significance of the Douro Valley, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious wine-growing regions, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The journey takes place in complete comfort on board a minibus, accompanied at all times by a specialist guide who will share interesting facts and relevant information about the region throughout the day.
The tour departs at 08:00 from the meeting point on Calçada da Vandoma, heading towards the Douro Valley through landscapes characterised by terraced vineyards and the winding River Douro.
The first activity of the day will be a visit to a prestigious winery in the Douro region, a historic estate with a long history of wine production in the region. Here you will have the opportunity to learn about the estate’s history, the region’s winemaking traditions and production methods. At the end of the tour, there will be a guided tasting of three regional wines.
Next, you’ll enjoy a boat trip along the River Douro, where you can relax whilst admiring the unique scenery from the water, surrounded by vineyards and traditional country estates.
On the way back, we’ll pass through the heart of the Douro Valley – the village of Pinhão. We’ll stop at the São Cristóvão do Douro viewpoint, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the valley and take photographs of this iconic landscape.
We are due to arrive in Porto at 2.30 pm, finishing on Rua Alexandre Herculano, marking the end of an unforgettable experience in the Douro Valley.
This half-day trip does not include lunch or any free time for lunch. You are scheduled to arrive in Porto in time to have lunch after the tour ends.
