On this seven-day tour you will have the opportunity to visit some of the most impressive monumental cities in central and southern Spain, starting with Madrid. On the first day, we will pick you up at the airport and take care of your transfer to your hotel/accommodation. On this day you can visit the city at your leisure.
On the second day we will visit two of the most important buildings in Madrid, the Royal Palace and the Prado Museum. We will start with the Palace, whose visit will last about an hour and a half, then we will take a guided tour to the Prado Museum, the largest and most important art gallery in the country. This last visit will also last approximately one hour, where we will be able to enjoy the works of Velázquez, Goya, Rubens, among others. Once the visit is over, the tour will be finished and you can enjoy the city for the rest of the afternoon.
On the third day we will visit three cities of great importance and World Heritage Sites: Segovia, Avila and Toledo. We will start with Toledo with an hour and a half visit of the historic centre, and later we will visit the Primate Cathedral. Then we will head to Avila, famous for its walls which we will visit together with the exterior of the Cathedral, this part of the visit will last between 20-25 minutes and we will stop for lunch. In Segovia we will visit part of the historic centre, starting with the iconic aqueduct and ending at the Alcazar, where we will have a guided tour. After the visit, we will return to Madrid.
On the fourth day we will head south, starting with a visit to Cordoba. The first stop will be the Roman Bridge. After crossing the Guadalquivir we will find ourselves next to the Arco del Triunfo, the gateway to the medieval city. We will take a tour of the Jewish quarter, full of flowery courtyards, stroll through the San Basilio neighborhood and next will see the Royal Stables. We will also discover one of the few remaining synagogues on the peninsula. After lunch we will start our trip with a guided visit of the Mosque-Cathedral: a jewel of Caliphate art that is one of the symbols of Andalusia and a World Heritage Site. Afterwards, we will head to Seville, where we will drop you off at your accommodation.
On the fifth day, we will go on our Monumental Tour. This is a guided tour of the main monuments of Seville: Reales Alcázares, Cathedral and Giralda. These three monuments are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After the visit of more than 3 hours you will have the whole afternoon free to explore the city of Seville.
On the sixth day we will visit Ronda and the White Villages of Cadiz and Malaga. Our first stop will be an olive oil mill, where you will learn about the extraction and production of olive oil in the traditional way, a fundamental product in the history and gastronomy of Andalusia. We will also have an oil tasting in this oil mill. You will have the opportunity to taste one of the best extra virgin olive oils in the area. Afterwards we will visit the white village of Zahara de la Sierra. Its amazing location will leave you speechless. We will walk through its narrow streets, enjoy wonderful views and learn a little more about the history of Andalusia through its past. After visiting it we will head for Grazalema. Former land of Bandoleros and today a beautiful mountain village, one of the rainiest in Spain, nestled in the mountains next to forests of Pinsapos and Cork Oaks.
Finally, we will move on to the romantic city of Ronda, the largest in the region. We will arrive in Ronda through one of the largest Natural Parks in Spain: the cork oak forests; a journey through cork oaks where you will learn about this tree and the cork industry. After that, the impressive views of the Ronda mountain range will appear. Before arriving, our guide will explain you the most important historical and cultural details of Ronda, as well as its main monuments: Plaza de Toros, Alameda, Paseo de los Toreros, the Tajo and the famous Puente Nuevo.
And with this, we will finish the tour and return to our destinations from Seville or Madrid.
