In around three hours, you’ll explore the most iconic streets, squares and hidden corners of the old town to discover the three great jewels of Valencian Gothic architecture: the Silk Exchange, the Church of San Nicolás and Valencia Cathedral. Each monument reveals a different period in the city’s history and showcases the artistic, religious and commercial wealth that shaped its development over the centuries.
This experience goes far beyond a conventional tour. As you make your way along the route, you’ll discover legends, historical figures, traditions and interesting facts that still form part of Valencia’s identity. The combination of art, architecture and history makes this walk a unique way to understand Valencia’s evolution from medieval times to the present day.
The impressive Gothic vaults, Baroque frescoes, historic squares and monumental buildings provide an exceptional setting for those wishing to discover the essence of the city. Each stop offers a new perspective on Valencia’s heritage and allows visitors to admire some of the most beautiful and frequently photographed spots in the historic centre.
The tour begins next to the Serranos Towers, one of the ancient gates in the medieval city walls, before winding its way through the streets of the old town to discover the architectural treasures that have made Valencia one of Spain’s most important cultural destinations.
The tour continues at the Church of San Nicolás, known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of Valencia’, moves on to the spectacular Silk Exchange, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and culminates at the majestic Valencia Cathedral, where, according to tradition, the legendary Holy Chalice is kept. The tour ends in the Plaza de la Virgen, one of the city’s most iconic spots, steeped in history and tradition and surrounded by some of the most important buildings in Valencia’s heritage.
