Three historical gems of Spain in a single day from Madrid

Book Now

Discover three World Heritage cities with this itinerary to Toledo, Segovia and Ávila from Madrid, a journey into the past that you should not miss!

At the pick-up time, we will meet at our Naturanda office at Plaza de España, 9. We will head to Segovia, where we will begin a guided tour accompanied by our guide, who will show us the historic centre of the city. We will visit the Alcázar de Segovia, a medieval castle declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will stroll through the Plaza Mayor and admire monuments such as the Aqueduct of Segovia.

Next, we will set off for Ávila, which, with its magnificent 11th-century walls, is the city of Saint Teresa of Jesus. We will tour the historic centre and discover the legacy of this city, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Let yourself be dazzled by its fascinating history! The route will follow a section of Ávila’s famous wall. How was this defensive system devised? Why has it been preserved to this day? We will reveal the answers to these questions about the thick wall that surrounds the entire historic centre of the city as we head towards the Roman necropolis. Here we will stop for a well-deserved break, and you will have free time for lunch.

We will continue our journey to Toledo, our third stop of the day and also a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Toledo has a long Christian, Jewish and Muslim tradition, which is why it is also known as the city of three cultures.

On this tour from Madrid, we will not only see the most representative places in each of them, but we will also visit some hidden corners, authentic secret gems, only accessible to a few locals.

Finally, we will return to our starting point in Madrid.

Day trip to Guadarrama National Park

Book Now

Join our unforgettable day trip to the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park from Madrid and discover some of its most spectacular spots with an expert local guide.

Just 40 minutes from Madrid, we’ll find ourselves in a natural setting of extraordinary beauty and tranquillity, starting with the stunning La Pedriza area, one of Spain’s most unique granite landscapes. During the tour, we’ll pass through Manzanares el Real, where we’ll enjoy the views of its iconic castle from the outside.

We will continue on to Navacerrada, where we will stop for a rest and lunch, before heading on to the stunning mountain passes of Puerto de Navacerrada and Puerto de Cotos, surrounded by high-mountain scenery.

We will then head down into the Rascafría valley, one of the most picturesque areas of the mountains, where we will visit places such as the Mirador de los Robledos viewpoint and the charming Parque Finlandés, weather permitting.

The itinerary may be adjusted depending on the weather conditions and the group’s pace, whilst always ensuring the best possible experience.

The Sierra de Guadarrama is Spain’s fourth-largest national park, comprising eleven ecosystems that are home to over 1,280 species, thirteen of which are endangered. There are also over 1,500 native plant species and thirty types of vegetation. The fauna includes deer, wild boar, Iberian wolves, roe deer, fallow deer, mountain goats, badgers, various mustelids, wildcats, foxes and hares.

We also have a wide variety of waterbird species in the reservoirs, as well as large birds of prey, notably the imperial eagle and the black vulture – truly magnificent creatures that you’ll be able to see on this tour organised by Naturanda.

Highlights of the park: the milder and wetter climate of the Sierra compared to that of the plateau, combined with the fact that it has been less altered by human activity, has made it a haven for biodiversity. Its landscape features glacial cirques and lakes, as well as outcrops of granite; its vegetation includes high-mountain ecosystems and extensive Scots pine forests.

Without a doubt, the best way to discover the natural surroundings and traditional culture of Madrid.

Day trip to Toledo from Madrid

Book Now

We offer you the opportunity to get to know Toledo better with our daily walking tour of the city.

Toledo is a city located in the center of Spain and is the capital of the province of the same name. Three great religions, Christian, Jewish and Muslim, have coexisted for centuries and have left their mark on the city.

Toledo was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986.

If you did not know, the Romans settled for the first time in the city and called it Toletum, leaving many remains.

And when the Roman Empire fell, Toledo was conquered by the Germanic peoples in the 6th century and then invaded by the Muslims at the beginning of the 8th century. In the 12th century, after the Christian reconquest, Toledo became an important cultural center in Europe and a meeting place for scholars of the three great religions thanks to the creation of the School of Translators.

Jews, Muslims and Christians lived together in harmony for centuries, each leaving their mark on the history of the city.

The city grew steadily thanks to the silk, arms and textile industries.

Toledo became one of the most important cities in Castile in the 16th century. At the beginning of the 14th century, the Catholic Monarchs decreed the expulsion of the Jews.

During the civil war, the Alcazar of Toledo played an important role in the history of the city. The rebels took refuge there and resisted the Republicans for 2 months.

Over the centuries, Toledo has become one of the most interesting cities in Spain with its synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, the monastery of San Juan de los Reyes and the hermitage of Cristo de la Luz or its famous sheds.

With our tour of Toledo, you will be accompanied by a professional guide during the whole tour and you will learn even more details about what we have just told you.

Highlights of Toledo full day tour:

  • A walking tour of Toledo
  • You will be accompanied at all times by a professional guide.
  • You will see the Cathedral of Toledo
  • You will also see the synagogue
  • We will talk to you about the coexistence of three religions in Toledo
