The Real Alcázar of Seville, declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, together with the Archive of the Indies and the Cathedral of Seville, is one of those places to keep in the memory and in the retina together with the stories —imaginary or not— that have been portrayed in them. Highlights include spaces such as the Prince’s Garden, the Courtyard of the Maidens, the Admiral’s Hall, the upper royal room and the Courtyard of La Montería.
The origins of the Royal Alcazar of Seville date back to the time of the High Middle Ages, although some areas of Islamic art have been preserved, which are impressive for their delicacy. In any case, Mudejar art and the Gothic style predominate.
Later, Renaissance and Baroque elements were added. It was in the 14th century when King Don Pedro ordered the demolition of the three Almohad palace buildings to build a palace in Mudejar style, attached to the Gothic-style palace of Alfonso X, which would serve as the Royal House. A palace that amazed King Ferdinand III “The Saint” himself and one of the oldest in Europe.
Over the centuries it has been the residence of members of the Spanish Royal Family in Seville. Today, it is still exclusively reserved for royal use, except for tourist visits.
Accompanied by an official Naturanda guide, on our tour we will discover all the secrets and legends of the architectural complex and its lush gardens. We will walk through the different halls, courtyards and rooms of this impressive royal palace and discover magnificent corners of the palace such as the famous baths of María Padilla or the pond of Mercury.
Corners full of secrets and legends that will be explained during the guided tour, which will end in the gardens of the Real Alcázar, so that attendees can enjoy all its charms.
